Race, Culture and Soulcare

for CrossStreets

A podcast about race, culture and soulcare

CrossStreets podcast was born out of a desire to engage head and heart with the racial inequality people of color experience and explore more directly the question, “whose lives do we recognize as valuable in this country?”

In 2017, KIN partnered with CrossStreets to develop the first season of CrossStreets podcast and has produced three seasons since the podcast was launched in 2018. KIN was hired to conduct dozens of interviews and manage the post production edit and sound design. Additionally, KIN produced a gallery of portraits to be used during the release of each episode on social media.

The purpose of the podcast is to reveal the complexities of our culture and engage with local communities regarding racial injustice, community brokenness and possible reconciliation. The creators of CrossStreets began a journey of capturing and preserving the personal stories of individuals in their neighborhood to better understand the struggles they face as well as the beauty they behold. They believe promoting authentic cultural exchange between people of different races is of paramount importance.
